One of the most annoying things that can happen to your JZ is when the water port barb on the back of the head starts to leak from the factory pressed in barb coming loose. At some point, it will happen. Gluing them back in will only last so long and the last thing you need is for the whole fitting to come out and loose all your coolant, probably mid lap and risk burning up your engine!
We've developed the only self threading repair fittings to fix this problem.
How it works
Our stainless steel fitting has our own thread pitch and profile to allow the fitting to thread directly into the port on the head without any pre threading or drilling required.
By designing and machining completly in house, we're able to spec and machine a custom thread pattern to work specifically with the Toyota water port size.
Just insert the thread pilot into the port, use a 7/8" deep socket on a ratchet, and thread it in until the face seal washer it tight. The fitting doesn't require any special tools or a lot of power to install. The seal washer utilizes a rubber seal face so a crush force is not required.
Series 1 Fitting
The series 1 fitting is designed with the same size 17mm hose barb as factory fittings. This makes direct replacement easy for cars with a straight fitting.
Series 2 Fitting
The series 2 fitting has -8 AN threaded fitting on the exposed end. If you require a 90 degree hose fitting, you may need to use the Series 2 fitting with the optional 90 degree barb.
90 Barb Fitting
The 90 degree -8 AN barb fitting comes with a 1/2" barb. A lot of cars use a 17mm or 3/4" water line. This may require the use of a 5/8" hose clamped down on the barb and stretched to fit the car.
